We all know all governments are trying to expand and they need money to run the system. They get the money through taxes, mainly without any economic intention, just trying to get as much money as they can, only focused in the short term. As a result of this, some people are trying to defend themselves against the government's aggression via creating a new world.
But, where? On the sea.
The Seasteading Institute is an organization which tries to create sustainable cities on waters. They start with:
“At The Seasteading Institute, we work to enable seasteading communities – floating cities – which will allow the next generation of pioneers to peacefully test new ideas for government. The most successful can then inspire change in governments around the world. This is an audacious vision that will take decades to fully realize. We strongly believe in incrementalism – breaking this huge vision down into manageable, practical steps. Our current strategy centers around the Floating City Project, through which we are crafting practical plans for the world’s first seastead, designed around the needs of actual potential residents, and located within a “host” nation’s protected, territorial waters.”

Of course, some will find similarities with the Principality of Sealand (the floating pontoon base that became independent), but the above is a far more serious project.
