The last 2 years I’ve combining normal reading on my iPad with audiobooks. My experience has been great.
First, Amazon offers a great service through Audible, where you have the option of paying for a number of books in advance and download them during the year. Of course with audiobooks it matters who reads them, therefore the valuation has 2 figures: how good it is read, how good the content of the book is.
Second, I use audiobooks when I run, when I drive, when I go for a walk..., without losing focus. It optimizes my time.
The only handicap I found comes when the books are very confusing with a lot of characters or some technical ones that neeed charts all the time (with the audiobooks you can download the charts as well, but somehow it is uncomfortable). In these cases, I would avoid the audiobook.
