High Dividend REIT ETFs

What is a REIT? Real Estate Investment Trust, used to buy properties directly o through mortagages (Investolink). It allows us to be present in the property business without taking care of the actual day-by-day. Also it is an easy way to diversify our real estate portfolio.

As it happens with stocks, you can buy different REITs or an ETF who buys several for you. Below you can see some ETF options:

  • Vanguard REIT ETF (VNQ)
  • SPDR Dow Jones REIT ETF (RWR)
  • SPDR Dow Jones Global Real Estate ETF (RWO)
  • SPDR Dow Jones International Real Estate ETF (RWX)
  • First Trust FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Global Real Estate Index Fund (FFR)
  • iShares FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Developed Real Estate ex-U.S. (IFGL)
  • iShares FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Developed Asia (IFAS)
  • iShares FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Developed Europe (IFEU)
  • iShares FTSE EPRA/NAREIT North America (IFNA)

Several managers are clearly betting on international REITs from an asset allocation point of view (view article here).

To finish, let us introduce you 2 REITs related to healthcare: HCN and OHI, both with high dividend yield and solid fundamentals.
